PARTIESThe 13th annual Interior Design Show has officially kicked off design week in Toronto. But it also ignited the party scene. Thursday night’s opening soiree was a who’s who of the art and fashion worlds, with bold-facers like Alfred Sung and HGTV’s Sarah Richardson showing off their spaces. First stop was the Casey House silent auction which featured the Vitra Panton chair re-imagined by 20 of Canada’s most celebrated designers. The last stop? Rumour has it Rhed, the designers behind the Carver Tea House exhibit, brought the party back to their yet-to-open Templar Hotel kitchen for some Veuve and venison for a lucky few. But the most charming part of the night had to be Scavolini CEO Francesco Farina’s oh-so-authentic Italian accent. According to a woman captivated by his speech, "it just sounds better when he says it."
